Police rescue 3 teens kidnapped to J'lem refugee camp

Youths try to hitch ride from Jerusalem to Beit El, but taken by driver to Palestinian refugee camp, where their cell phones, money are stolen. Police force called to scene, rescues teens unharmed

Police forces rescued from the Shoafat refugee camp near Jerusalem Friday three Israeli teens who were kidnapped after hitching a ride with a driver from Shoafat. The police believe that the incident is of a criminal nature.

 

According to suspicions, the teens got on the car in Jerusalem, and asked the driver, a Palestinian, to take them to the settlement of Beit El. During the ride, the driver entered the refugee camp, where crowds of people began gathering around the teens.

 

One of the three managed to escape the place and called the police at about 5 am, asking for rescue.

 

A police force was dispatched to the refugee camp and evacuated the youths unharmed.

 

During the affair, the driver and two other men stole cell phones and cash from the teens. Searches for the driver and his abettors are currently being conducted.
