Hamas man killed in IDF airstrike in Gaza

Palestinian sources report IAF fired missile at group members in northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun. IDF says it targeted terror cell attempting to fire rockets or mortar shells at Israel

The Israel Air Force fired a missile at Hamas members in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday night, killing on of the men and injuring three others, Palestinian eyewitnesses and sources in Hamas reported.

The IDF said in response that the strike targeted a terror cell engaged in firing rockets or mortar shells at Israel.

The strike took place at around 2:30 am. Hamas officials reported that four of the organization members were attacked in the town of Beit Hanoun. They added that one of the men, who has yet to be identified, was killed, while three others were injured.

"The men attacked were members of a cell engaged in launching Qassam rockets or mortar shells," a military official said. "The strike took place as the four were trying to fire rockets at Israel."

On Friday, a Golani Brigade force uncovered seven Qassam launchers in Beit Hanoun. The launchers were seized by the soldiers.
