Livni apologizes to Ahmed Qureia after checkpoint
Foreign Affairs Minister Tzipi Livni spoke with Palestinian negotiator Ahmed Qureia on Sunday evening and apologized for the treatment he and his team received at an Israeli checkpoint earlier in the day. The Palestinian team was prevented from reaching Jerusalem for a meeting with Israeli officials ahead of the upcoming peace summit.
Officials in Jerusalem expressed their regret for the incident and said the military has been ordered to investigate the chain of events. (Roni Sofer)
