Police to release decision on Bank Leumi affair Sunday

As Prime Minister Ehud Olmert lands in Washington at the beginning of the week ahead of the Annapolis peace conference, the head of the police's investigation department will announce the police's recommendations regarding the prime minister's involvement in the sale of Bank Leumi's controlling interest.

According to suspicions, while Olmert served as acting finance minister, he allegedly illegally held a direct and indirect relationship involving bribery with two of his friends, Daniel Abrams and Frank Louie.

The prime minister was questioned twice by police investigators over this affair. According to reports, sources in the police and in the State Prosecutor's Office believe that the affair will not lead to an indictment against Olmert.

The prime minister is currently facing three more investigations, one regarding the sale of his house on Cremieux Street and the two others regarding his tenure as trade, industry and labor minister.
