Animation: Dafna Sudri

No touching, no passing objects, no sleeping in the same bed: Niddah (literally: Separation) is a term that refers to to the regulations and rituals concerning menstruation.

Dafna Sudri's animated clip "A Day in the Life of a Couple Practicing Niddah," explores this ritual in a humoristic way.

Sudri, who studied animation at the prestigious London Westminster University, worked on the five-minute clip for a year-and-half. Sudri, who drew each of the 3,000 pictures by hand came up with the idea when she was attending Jewish family law classes ahead of her wedding.

"A Day in the Life" will be screened next week, at the annual Jewish Film Festival in Ashkelon.
