Mashaal: We'll free Gilad Shalit only if Israel frees Palestinian prisoners

Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal said Friday that kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Ghalit will be set free only if Israel agrees to free Palestinian prisoners in exchange.

"The matter of the prisoners bloodies our heart," he said, but did not give further details. Mashaal spoke in a Damascus gathering marking the organization's 20th anniversary. (AP)
