Qassams hit Sderot, residents suffer shock

Eight rockets fired at Israel Saturday afternoon, but only two land in western Negev town; several people treated for shock, including young girl, elderly woman

Two Qassam rockets fired from northern Gaza Strip landed in the town of Sderot Saturday evening, causing several local residents to suffer shock. One of the residents was evacuated to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon for treatment.

 

Locals told Ynet that among those treated for shock were a young girl and an elderly woman.

According to police, eight rockets were launched from Gaza, but only two were located in town.

 

Police forces, Magen David Adom paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene and extensive damage was caused to vehicles parked in the area.

 

Four Qassam rockets landed in Sderot Friday – three in open areas and one near a private residence in the city. The Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades claimed responsibility for the shooting.

 

A nine-month pregnant woman suffered shock in the attack.
