An Israeli man sustained light-to-moderate injuries on Thursday evening after Palestinian gunmen apparently opened fire at his car as it was traveling along Route 446 near the village of Dir Kadis in the Modi'in area. The man was wounded in his shoulder.
The man arrived at the Na'alin military checkpoint where he received emergency medical treatment from Magen David Adom paramedics and was evacuated to the Tel HaShomer hospital.
IDF troops are currently searching the area for the perpetrators.
A group belonging to Fatah's military wing claimed responsibility for the shooting.
A spokesman for the organization told Ynet that the attack was carried out in response to the IDF's offensive in the Gaza Strip, in which at least 25 Palestinians have been killed over the past 48 hours.
