Denzel Washington to visit Israel
Academy Award winner for best actor to arrive in Jewish state as part of delegation of African-American artists ahead of 60th anniversary celebrations
American actor Denzel Washington will arrive in Israel
for a first visit ahead of the Jewish state's 60th anniversary.
The Academy Award winner for best actor, 54, is expected to land in Israel as part of a delegation of African-American artists, which will also include singer Natalie Cole, the daughter of jazz artist Nat King Cole, and actor and dancer Debbie Allen.
During the visit, the artists are expected to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
and President Shimon Peres
and with cinema studies students at Tel Aviv University.
