VIDEO - The police station in Sderot, where the remnants of the hundreds of Qassam rockets fired on the southern town are being stored, has lately become a site of pilgrimage for tourists from across the world. The tourists, wishing to attain first-hand knowledge of the situation in the bombarded region, often find themselves being rushed to bomb shelters when rockets are fired at the town during their visit. The sight of the hundreds of rockets piled on improvised shelves at the police station's yard also has a huge impact on visitors. During their visit, a member of the local bomb squad usually meets with the tourist groups and explains to them about the Qassams and the damage they cause. A group of tourists from the United States and Australia who recently arrived in Sderot, found the visit to the police station to be "an eye-opener," and vowed to spread the word of what they saw, heard and experienced in Israel back in their home states.
