A great day for rapists

High Court’s ruling a victory for men who want to get away with hurting women

The State Prosecutor’s Office, greedy attorneys, the police, and the High Court of Justice won. The woman only known as “A.” lost, along with other battered women, but A. tops the list.

She was unable to overcome the top lawyers and all their money. She lost on behalf of all women; any woman who seeks to charge a man who hurt her in the face of heartless lawyers.

It will no longer be possible for a woman who deals with such bothersome, complex and personal issue to see justice prevail and maintain her good name. The judges gave in to power and money. They also gave in to the honor of the attorney general, who certainly knows that he rushed into the plea bargain deal with the president.

The attorney general also has a daughter, who one day may be facing a thug that attempts to rape her. Then, with the assistance of another attorney general and big money, she will be thwarted, while members of the establishment hire a big shot wise lawyer that to fight the young woman – a woman that stood up bravely, exposed herself, and was ultimately hurt so badly.

A dark day for us all

From now on, and we already said it before, women will no longer file complaints. No woman would want to face an arsenal of power, money, and prestige that would butcher her publicly. She will know that when it comes to Israeli justice, she has no chance.

This is a great day for rapists and men who hurt women, and for those who wish to attack women and get away with it because they come from an important family and have power and money and lawyers who care about nothing expect for power.

It is true that lawyers need to defend their clients, but there are red lines. What we have are hurt women, who are powerless; weak women, who must prove something that is very hard to prove. They have to expose what is most dear to them, and at the end they get a slap in the face, because the court must protest high-powered lawyers and the attorney general, and the attorney general must protect the prosecutors, and everyone protects everyone else while they allow a hurt young woman to be dishonored.

This is a dark day for all of us. The lawyer who represented A. stood up bravely and wisely and sensitively against Israel’s manhood and injustice. She stood up against the united front of Israel’s big shots; against power and money. She tried. The lesson is that when facing off against power and money, no justice will prevail in this country.
