NIS 475 million earmarked to Shas institutions
Knesset's Finance Committee approves allocation of funds to party's educational institutions

The Knesset's Finance Committee on Wednesday approved the allocation of NIS 475 million (about $131.5 million) to Shas'
educational institutions, as part of the party's coalition agreements.
The fund transfer was approved by the committee last week, but immediately after the vote, Committee Chairman Stas Misezhnikov (Yisrael Beiteinu)
and Knesset Member Chaim Oron (Meretz)
decided on a repeated voting.
On Tuesday, Misezhnikov decided to withdraw his request to hold a repeated voting after Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai promised to increase the budget of his ministry's business tutoring project to NIS 17 million ($4.7 million).
The committee voted on the budgetary transfer as per MK Oron's request and approved it.
Four MKs voted in favor of the fund allocation: Yitzhak Vaknin and Amon Cohen (Shas), Nissan Slomiansky (National Union-National Religious Party)
and Elhanan Glazer (Pensioners Party). Oron and MK Reuven Rivlin (Likud)
voted against it.
