Pope Benedict XVI appealed to Israeli and Palestinian authorities on Sunday to "unconditionally" end the fighting that has killed dozens of people in the Gaza Strip in the last two days.
Addressing faithful in St. Peter's Square after his traditional noontime blessing, Benedict called on both
sides to "end this cycle of violence, unilaterally, unconditionally." (A)
