The 2008 international Presidential Conference to showcase 60 Israeli inventions that will change all of our tomorrows
Israel may not boast a wealth of world class professional athletes; however, it does have more than its fair share of scientists and inventors. These brilliant Jewish minds will be front and center at the 2008 Israeli presidential conference organized by President Shimon Peres, as part of a unique Olympiad of inventions and innovations.
The Presidential Conference, an international convocation scheduled for May, bears the theme “facing tomorrow”, and will showcase 60 inventions and innovations developed by Israeli scientists, researchers and inventor that will revolutionize the future for Israel and the world community alike.
This aforementioned exhibition will examine six separate domains intimately entwined into all of our lives and endeavors as human beings: The interpersonal or social domain, the urban domain, the terrestrial and oceanic domains, the aerial domain, the intellectual domain and the virtual domain.
According to Attorney Israel Maimon, until recently the Israeli government secretary, and now serving as chairman of the steering committee for the conference, “on display at the conference will be various groundbreaking projects in the fields of medicine, nutrition, communications, transportation, water purification, water and air pollution prevention, and more.”
This week conference coordinators are expected to issue an announcement calling on Israeli researchers, inventors and scientists to nominate their work for presentation at the conference. A panel of experts will then select the 60 most promising inventions and projects to be showcased at the May conference.
The inventions and projects selected will be proudly displayed for the hundreds of participants expected to attend this first annual presidential conference to enjoy, including numerou world leaders, statesman, international business tycoons, and world Jewish leaders.
The impressive guest list for the conference already includes, among others, Google founder Sergey Brin, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Quartet Representative to the Middle East Tony Blair, and News Corp. chief and media magnate Rupert Murdoch.
