Terror alert in Beit She'an area lifted

Police set up roadblocks in Amakim region in light of intelligence information regarding possible terror attack. Hamas continues to threaten Israel

A high state of alert was declared Tuesday in the Beit She'an and Afula area in northern Israel in light of intelligence information regarding on a possible terror attack in the area.

Police set up roadblocks in the area and patrol vehicles were dispatched to the roads. The alert was lifted shortly afterwards

Hamas and the other Palestinian organizations have threatened in recent days to "settle the account" with Israel due to the high number of casualties – some 110 – in the IDF's Operation Warm Winter in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas continued to celebrate the movement's "victory" in the operation. In a rally held Tuesday in Gaza, attended by students from the Islamic University and senior movement officials, Hamas promised that "the Israeli failure in the recent operation will not be the last."

Dr. Halil al-Hayyah, who lost his son in the northern Strip battles, said Tuesday that the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, has yet to present and use all the weapons, tools and force in its possession.

"I promise you that our fighters have more weapons for the day of liberation, weapons which will be used on Judgment Day," he added.

Al-Hayyah went on to say that "the Hamas movement, which derives it power from the masses, will win any conflict because its religious fighters act like lions in a battlefield."

Hamas leader Munir al-Masri said Tuesday that a movement sacrificing its founders, leaders and sons of its leaders will eventually win, and that the Zionists themselves admit that they failed.
