"It is strictly forbidden to transfer arms of any kind to the Arabs, and those who authorize it or take part in this act in any way – are 'spillers of blood' and are aiding the enemy," Rabbi Dov Lior, chairman of the Yesha Rabbinical Council, said in a ruling he issued following the government's decision to allow Russia to transfer 25 armored vehicles to Palestinian security forces in the West Bank.

The ruling, which was signed by six prominent rabbis, states that "according to the Halacha, anyone who can disrupt the transfer of weapons to the Palestinian Authority is obligated to do so."

Rabbi Lior, who also serves as the chief rabbi of the Kiryat Arba settlement near Hebron, says in his ruling "the government plans to transfer armored vehicles and additional weapons to the Palestinian Authority despite being aware that PA security personnel were behind some of the recent terror attacks against Jews, including the murder of the holy man Ido Zoldan and the holy men David Rubin and Ahikam Amichai.

"It is obvious that the weapons will eventually end up in the hands of Hamas and will be used in the near future to kill and maim Jews, God forbid, as past experience has shown that many Jews were killed or injured by weapons that were handed to the Arabs in the aftermath of the Oslo Accords," the rabbi declared.

The ruling further states that "(IDF) commanders must see to it that their soldiers do not implement this decision (to transfer arms). Anyone who disrupts this reckless act is saving Israeli lives and will be blessed by God.
