Ramon: No retaliation for fear of Israel’s reaction

Vice Premier Haim Ramon spoke about the looming tension on Israel’s northern border Thursday, and stated that “one of the reasons they( Hizbullah) are wary of avenging the assassination of Imad Mugniyah is that following the Second Lebanon War they cannot predict Israel’s response.”

At a Tel Aviv meeting with Israeli businessmen, Ramon noted that “our ability to negotiate with Syria is extremely limited at the moment, if at all existent. It is difficult to pull Syria out of its axis of extremism, because the Golan Heights is not sufficient incentive for Syria to relinquish its ties with iran and its control over Lebanon.” (Roni Sofer)
