Kuwait FM says country will open Baghdad embassy

None

Kuwait's foreign minister says his country is looking to buy a building in Baghdad that would house a Kuwaiti Embassy. It would be the first Kuwaiti Embassy in Iraq since the 1991 Gulf War, when Saddam Hussein invaded the small oil-rich state. Iraq has since reopened its embassy in Kuwait after Saddam's ouster.

Sheik Mohammed Al Sabah said Sunday that Kuwait's new embassy would be in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone. He says Kuwait doesn't need to be told by a "foreigner" that it is important to open a diplomatic mission in Iraq. (AP)
