US presidential hopeful Barack Obama congratulated Israel in honor of its 60th Independence Day, saying that the United States will always stand by Israel to ensure that it can defend itself against the threats of terror and violence, from Gaza to Tehran.
He added that his country would never hesitate when practicing its commitment to help Israel reach its goal of achieving real peace through durable peace with its neighbors. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
