CBS greenlights Israeli-based series ‘Mythological X’

After being broadcasted on Israel’s Channel 2, American version will air on CBS this coming fall. ‘It’s like I’ve been given a second chance,’ said creator Sigal Avin

The pilot for the American version of the Israeli series "Mythological X" by Sigal Avin has been given the go-ahead by CBS and will air this coming fall. The American version will be titled “The Ex List.”

The series centers on a 30-year-old single woman who learns by consulting a psychic that she's already met and discarded the love her life. The character then needs to revisit all her ex-beaus to find Mr. Right.

Mythological X will be written by Diane Ruggiero ("Veronica Mars") and executive produced by Jonathan Levin ("Charmed"), who created the pilot produced by 20th Century Fox.

Sigal Avin was on location during the shooting of the pilot, returning from Los Angeles last week. “I’m in daily contact with the producer, director and writer as part of my role as script consultant,” Avin told Ynet Tuesday, while celebrating the exciting news. “I received the official announcement a few hours ago and the feeling’s great.

“The actors are amazing and the entire pilot shoot was an extraordinary experience,” she added. “The pilot is very similar to the original series, only much better funded. It allowed me to fix some things that went wrong in the Israeli version and I feel as if I’ve been given a second chance.”

With the 'Upfront' pilot season at its height, only a few lucky pilots are chosen to be developed into series. Avin says the ‘Mythological X’ pilot won over many other turned down pilots. In doing so, ‘Mythological X’ follows in the footsteps of "In Treatment" and "A Touch Away" - picked up by HBO  - as well as “Mesudarim” (US-titled "Loaded"), which was picked up by Fox.
