US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a key Democrat critic of President George Bush's war policy in Iraq, landed in Baghdad on Saturday for talks with US and Iraqi officials, the US Embassy said.
An embassy spokeswoman said Pelosi would meet US Ambassador Ryan Crocker and the commander of US forces in Iraq, General David Petraeus. The California Democrat would also hold talks with senior members of Iraq's leadership, although the spokeswoman declined to give details. (Reuters)
