Counter-Terrorism Bureau warns against travel to Kashmir
Israelis warned against travel to northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Terror threat level elevated following recent calls of local terror group to target tourists from Israel
The Counter-Terrorism Bureau in the Prime Minister’s Office issued an urgent warning on Wednesday against travel to northern India. The bureau has elevated the existing threat alert pertaining to the state of Jammu and Kashmir to the highest level.
This following an increase in terror threats in the region and the call of a major local terror group to target Israelis in particular.
The bureau recommends that Israeli citizens avoid traveling to the area and urges those already there to depart immediately.
The bureau reiterated that those traveling to India in general should take extra precautions and remain alert to possible threats.
