Referring to the renewed peace negotiations between Israel and Syria, Knesset Member Michael Eitan (Likud) said "a peace agreement with Syria is the same as signing a peace agreement with (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad."
"Negotiaitons on a peace deal with Syria are legitimate, but we must keep in mind that it is more complex than the talks we held with Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinians," he said. "We can not make any concession to Damascus as long as it is an ally of Iran and serves as its base for hostility and aggression against Israel." (Amnon Meranda)
