Former Knesset Member Omri Sharon (Likud)
will be released from jail on June 25, after the Israel Prison Service's parole board decided to commute his sentence by a third for good behavior.
Sharon was sentenced to jail and fined NIS 300,000 ($81,000) in February 2006 after he was found guilty of fraud during his father's 1999 campaign for the leadership of the Likud party.
In total, the son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will serve five months out of his seven-month prison sentence.

His sentence was delayed, however, to allow him to spend time with his father, who had suffered a debilitating stroke in January 2006.
Since beginning his prison sentence, Sharon managed to take two 48-hour vacations.
Sharon's request for an early release was submitted to an IPS committee headed by a retired judge. Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann recently informed President Shimon Peres that he would not recommend that Sharon's prison sentence be shortened or mitigated to community service.
