Petah Tikva launches first ever kosher food festival in Israel to enormous success, as thousands hurry to city to have a delicious mouthful of everything kosher

After several years in the making, the first ever Israeli Kosher Food Festival was launched in Petah Tikva last week.

The mass attendance surprised the festival's organizers, as thousands of foodies flocked to the venue. Unfortunately, a miscommunication between the organizers and police caused a delay in opening the venue's gates, resulting in some very hungry – and angry – masses.

Those who persevered the wait found dozens of kosher food stands, serving a dazzling array of moderately priced food.

For several hours, a long line was seen in front of every stand in the court. Anything and everything consumable was gobbled down.

The event also featured children-friendly activities, making the communal eating a true happening – hours of fun for the whole family.

The musical menu included performances by the Razel family, Shuli Rand and a surprise in the form of singer Arik Sinai.

Sorely missing from the fiesta were several of Israel's leading kosher restaurants. Considering the enormous popularity of the event, they will probably make sure to take part in next year's festival.
