If you thought that Boaz Mauda finished his Eurovision career, think again. Mauda, who came in ninth in the European song cotest, will compete with other Eurovision participants in a competition entitled Song of the Mediterranean. The contest will begin in Montenegro on Saturday, June 28, and will last until Monday.

The show will include 35 performances by singers from the entire Mediterranean region and 20 songs will be chosen for the finals. Amongst the expected attractions is the guest performance by Julio Iglesias.

The event will serve as a stage for former Eurovision partakers. The 2008 Eurovision representatives from Macedonia and San Marino will be joining Mauda in Montenegro.

The first prize is no less than 15,000 UK pounds ($30,000). In addition, monetary prizes will be distributed for the best composition, lyrics and discovery.

Ynet has learned that Mauda is expected to fly to Montenegro on Thursday night. The Israeli rep won’t perform the song he sang at the Eurovision, "Ke'ilu Kan" written by Israel's Eurovision winner Dana International and Shai Kerem, but rather the song "Lecha Eli" written by Tomer Biran.

Aside from this contest, Boaz is expected to perform in a few other shows throughout Europe.
