World's greatest bass guitar players to perform in Israel

Stanley Clark, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller to play in October in Binyamina, Tel Aviv as part of their joint concert tour

Stanley Clark , Victor Wooten and Marcus Miller - the world’s three greatest Jazz and Fusion bass guitar players are coming to Israel for two concerts as part of their joint tour.

The three will perform at the Shuni fortress on October 10 and the following day, October 11, at Tel Aviv’s Frederic R. Mann Auditorium.

The three giants’ tour was launched last October, after Stanley Clark was given a life achievement award. Earlier this year, they began planning their tour in Europe and the US and began working on a joint album coming out next month.

On their official website, the three said they have been receiving requests from fans to perform together for the last 15 years. A clip from their concert can be viewed here.

Clark, 57, is a pioneer in his field and the oldest of the three. He has collaborated with Stan Getz, Stewart Copeland (The Police), Gil Evans, Art Blakie and Chick Corea of course. In the past 20 years, he has composed music for many TV series and films, as well as albums for other Jazz artists such as Kenneth Jordan.

Miller, 49, has played with Miles Davis in the 1980s, as well as Luther Vandross, Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, David Sanborn and many others. He also plays other instruments such as saxophone and bass clarinet. He has released many solo albums, out of which "Tales" best represents his style.

Wooten, 43, is know for his unique slap technique and is considered a great guitar virtuoso. He has played with the Dave Matthews Band and Carter Beauford. Wooten has released six solo albums to date.
