A source in the production said that the concert has been called off due to "contractual difficulties" between the artist and the producers; and not because of low ticket sales. The production team was given the cancellation notice over the phone Tuesday.

Word about the rapper’s visit to Israel was published over a month ago. The concert was first slated for the Ramat Gan Stadium but was later relocated to Rishon Lezion Amphitheater. Tickets' sales for the concert have yet to begin.

Snoop Dogg joins the list of other no-shows this summer, including Chris Cornell, Björk and Siouxsie Sioux.

Snoop Dogg (also known as Calvin Broadus) was going to perform in Israel as part of his new ninth album tour titled "Ego Trippin.” The rapper is currently on long tour in the US and will begin his one-month tour of Europe in September.
