Tender for Ashdod hospital underway

Finance, Health ministries and Israel Lands Administration publish long awaited bid for construction, operation of southern city's first hospital

The Finance and Health ministries and the Israel Lands Administration's inter-ministerial tender committee announced Tuesday that the long-awaited bid for the construction and operation of Ashdod's first hospital is finally on its way.

The committee invited developers, contractors and service-providers to bid on the various aspects of the future medical facility's operations; including funding the facility's construction, planning its layout and overseeing its day-to-day operations.

The hospital stands to be built on a 17-acre stretch of land, owned by the City of Ashdod and the Israel Lands Administration.

Whoever wins the bid would have to comply with both city regulations and the Health Ministry's guidelines in order to eventually oversee the hospital's administrative operation.
