A 26-year-old Palestinian woman attempted to stab an Israeli security guard Wednesday at the Rachel Crossing in south Jerusalem after she was prevented from entering the capital.
The guard was unharmed and the woman was apprehended.
In a separate incident, Border Guard officers securing the Cave of the Patriarchs in the West Bank city of Hebron detained a 20-year-old Palestinian from the village of Dura who was concealing a foot-long knife. The man admitted to interrogators that he planned to stab one of the Israeli officers. No injures were reported.
On Tuesday Border Guard officers foiled another stabbing attempt at the holy Jewish site in Hebron.
Two weeks ago a 27-year-old Palestinian was arrested by Border Guard officers for carrying a knife at the al-Ram checkpoint north of Jerusalem. The man said he planned to attack a soldier or police officer. No one was injured in the incident.
