Israeli tennis player Tzipi Obziler, who is slated to play in Beijing's women's doubles match series alongside Shahar Peer, received a pleasant surprise on Sunday, as she was informed she had been made eligible to play in the Olympics' singles event.

Obziler was made eligible for the singles after several of the other players slated to compete announced they would be dropping out.

"I'm very happy," she told Ynet. "This is another dream come true in my first – and last – Olympic Games."
