Two people stung multiple times after hundreds of bees swarm house in southern town
A southern family was in for an unpleasant surprise Friday after hundreds of bees swarmed a home in the town of Ofakim. Two family members were lightly hurt after suffering multiple stings.
Magen David Adom ambulance service received a call around 1:30 pm about a family trapped at home after hundreds of bees swarmed the house. However, a medical team dispatched to the area failed to enter the house through the front door because of the large number of bees at the site. After long minutes, paramedics were able to gain entry into the home through the backdoor and treated the two hurt family members.
Paramedic Ron Amir recounted the unusual incident: "When we arrived, we saw a huge number of bees at the door. We managed to enter through the backdoor and treated two people who were stung multiple times."
15 family members trapped
The paramedic said the bees were preventing family members and the medical team itself from leaving the house."We are waiting for a specialist to come and disperse the bees, so that we can go out," Amir said. He added that about 15 family members were trapped at the home.
At this time it is unclear where the bees came from and why they chose to target the specific house.
