“It’s absolutely clear,” says the leftist with a big smile, “The Georgians failed to grasp the limits of its power, and when they took over south Ossetia the Russians taught them a lesson they won’t be forgetting. We too need to understand that we can’t get everything, and that it’s not a good idea to aim for too much.”
Still Advancing?

Despite Moscow's reassurances that it would honor truce, Georgian leader says Russia extending its 'occupation'; earlier, US Secretary of State Rice says Russian attack on Georgia will have 'profound implications'
“Can you imagine what the Russian would do to Georgia if it fired Qassam rockets at them? The rightist continues. “Listen, buddy, these Russians have no High Court of Justice and no human rights groups. They know how to properly handle their enemies.”
“You’re truly an idiot,” another leftist says. “After all, what we saw here is the exact, and I mean exact, opposite. The settlements and mixed population in Abkhazia and south Ossetia are clearly the root of all of Georgia’s troubles. You can’t take an area and put both Russians and Georgians there, especially when the Georgians claim that Abkhazia is the land of their forefathers, if you know what I mean.”
“You leftists are screwed up people who never learn a thing,” another rightist intervenes. “After all, Georgia was occupied just because it has no military power. And please note how the world stands on the sidelines and mutters polite words, while not doing a thing for its pro-Western friend. This is precisely what will happen to us here in Israel, if heaven forbid one day the Arabs and all their armies will overwhelm us.”
“None of our friends will come to our aid,” says the rightist. “What happened in Georgia will be child’s play compared to what will happen to us.”
The debate, of course, continues. But the most important thing is that all of us were proven right again.
