Israeli injured by Palestinian fire near Qalqilya

Man driving towards West Bank settlement of Alei Zahav wounded by bullet that grazed his ear when Palestinians opened fire on his car; IDF searching for culprits

Palestinians fired at two Israeli vehicles near the West Bank city of Qaliqilya early on Saturday. One of the drivers was lightly injured and his car damaged. He was evacuated to a Petah Tikva hospital, and IDF forces began to search the area for the suspects.

The incident took place at 3 am. Two cars driven by Israelis were making their way to the West Bank settlement of Alei Zahav, located south of Qalqilya. They were fired upon, apparently by Palestinians hiding in the area.

One of the drivers was very lightly injured when a bullet grazed his ear, and his vehicle was damaged. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics who arrived on the scene evacuated him to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

The other vehicle was not hit, and its driver remained unharmed. IDF forces alerted to the scene are currently searching for those responsible for the shooting.

Earlier this week Palestinians threw molotov cocktails and stones at Israeli vehicles south of Qalqilya. No injuries were reported. A few days earlier a similar occurrence took place east of Qalqilya, and two vehicles were damaged.
