A US soldier has been sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of accessory to murder in the killings of four Iraqi prisoners who were bound, blindfolded, shot and dumped in a
canal.
US Army Spc. Steven Ribordy will also have his rank reduced to private and receive a bad conduct discharge. The sentence at a court martial came as part of a plea agreement Thursday that will see the 25-year-old from Kansas testify for the prosecution against others in his unit who are alleged to have carried out the shootings.
