Teenager missing since August

16-year-old Yevgenia was last seen at a beach party in mid-August. Mother says 'can't bear to think something bad has happened to her'

Police continue to search for 16-year-old Yevgenia Vitbetzki, who was last seen on the 13th of August leaving a beach party in Ashkelon. Yegenia's mother Victoria, told Ynet that "I'm worried something has happened to her, she is such a naïve girl who is easily persuaded to do things."

On the day of her disappearance, Yevgenia was wearing a brown tank top with a flower print, black pants and red flip flops. Anyone who has seen her, or who knows of her whereabouts, is asked to report any information to the police.

However this is not the first time Yevgenia has disappeared from home. On the day of her disappearance, she had just returned home after an unexplained four-day absence. That day her mother took her to a police station. "The policemen treated her very well and asked her several questions, even I asked her where she went, but she didn't want to say," her mother said.

After leaving the police station, Yevgenia headed to a beach party in Ashkelon, where she was seen by several friends. Yevgenia talked to her mother that night, and told her that she was hanging out with friends and will be home later.

Further testimony reveals that a girl matching Yevgenia's description was seen at a shopping mall in Be'er Sheva. This testimony has made Yevgenia's mother believe that her daughter is staying some Bedouins she became acquainted with.

Yevgenia was last heard from on the 21st of August, when she called her grandmother and asked if she could come over for a quick shower and to gather some clothes. "Sadly she didn't show, and the number she called from was unidentified," her mother recalled. "She has some problems, she is very weak in nature and very naïve, which worries me. I can't bear to think something bad has happened to her."

Yevgenia's mother has asked to make clear to Yevgenia that she is not angry, merely asking her to contact home.

Chief Superintendent Haim Bloomenfeld of the Ashkelon Police has said the investigation into the disappearance is ongoing.
