Popular Yes show starring Ran Dankner, Gaya Traub may get American version as GC Investments optioned US production rights

GC Investments, which owns Killer Films Productions, has recently acquired the rights to produce an American version of the Israeli television show Danny Hollywood.

The Teddy Productions show, which is part of YES Satellite Services' programming, stars Ran Dankner, Gaya Traub and Shani Cohen. Set both in the 60s and the third millennia, the Back to the Future-style show centers around the love story between a singer and a young film director.

GC stressed that they have only optioned the show, meaning an American version may not be produced at all.

Should the company decide to go ahead with the project, it plans on producing only one season of the show – 24 episodes – as opposed to the 100 produces in Israel so far - which would be written by American screenwriters, possibly in collaboration with Israeli ones.

Danny Hollywood's second season is scheduled to air on Yes during 2009.
