Olmert: Settlers' violence in Hebron a pogrom
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said at the start of the cabinet meeting that "Israel has no plans to accept the violation of the truce as the terror organizations are brutally and violently doing. We'll act firmly and reasonably, but won't hesitate, in order to restore peace".
As for the Hebron incidents, Olmert said, "I have no other definition to the fact that Jews are directing their weapons and firing at Arabs in Hebron, but to refer to it as a pogrom. I hope there will be no more mercy towards the rioters among the settlers, and that these grave phenomena are halted completely." (Roni Sofer)
