VIDEO - The Counter Terrorism Bureau (CTB) issued a travel advisory on Wednesday, warning Israelis not to visit India's Goa region, this just two weeks after a series of terror attacks in Mumbai claimed the lives of 171 people.

The CTB defined the warning as "very concrete" and recommended that any trips to the area be postponed to the end of December.

"The Goa region is a potentially tempting target for Islamic terror groups, particularly leading up to the New Year celebrations," the Bureau said in a statement. A similar travel advisory was issued two years ago.

Chief Minister of Goa Digambar Kamat said the region has always been a preferred target for terrorists because it attracts some two million tourists a year, adding that the local security forces have increased their anti-terror measures.

"Last year before Christmas we also received information indicating that Goa may be targeted. The terrorists are aware that launching an attack in this region would affect all of India," he said.

"We have taken the necessary precautions, including the bolstering of the Coast Guard and Navy's presence."

The CTB has also reiterated its travel advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, following threats by the leadership of a major Kashmiri terrorist outfit to attack Israelis
