Eretz Israel Shelanu (Our Land of Israel), an extreme right-wing party led by Baruch Marzel and Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpo, announced Monday that it had accepted a celebrity into its ranks. Singer Ariel Zilber has been allotted one of the party's four top slots.
Zilber actively opposed the evacuation of Gush Katif and even expressed support for the release of Yigal Amir, who assassinated Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

"Israel is in danger and the people of Israel are in bad shape. There are no right-wing options so I chose to join Rabbi Wolpo and Baruch Marzel," Zilber told Ynet. "I want to retrieve Israel's respect in all fields – from security and education to culture."
Zilber added, "There is no real democracy in Israel. A small group has conquered the field of security, the media, and the courts, while imposing their opinions on the majority.
"The Israeli people are tired of surrendering to their enemies and I have been expressing this truth for quite a while, hoping to continue voicing it and battling for it from the Knesset podium."
Regarding his political doctrine Zilber said, "The concessions to Arabs and the surrender in Gush Katif, northern Samaria, and Lebanon have only brought us more Qassams and mortar shells. Unfortunately we are the only party to battle against surrender and proudly wave the Israeli flag."
