Diplomatic sources: Security Council understands we had to respond

The United Nations Security Council, who earlier in the day called on Israel to cease operations in Gaza, "understands that Israel had no choice other than to respond" to rocket fire, sources in the Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
"The Security Council's statement is less harsh than we expected. It's merely a press statement and not a resolution. The call for restraint is similar to statements made by other nations, who understand that Israel has no choice but to respond," the sources said. (Roni Sofer)
