President Shimon Peres commented on the situation in southern Israel and Gaza during a reception held for heads of the Christian churches ahead of the civil New Year.
"Anyone using a knife, bomb or weapon in the name of religion, should be denounced by that religion. Israel has no choice but to but a stop to the unbearable situation in the south," Peres said. (Ronen Medzini)
