Dubai cancels New Year celebrations over Gaza

Dubai's ruler on Tuesday ordered the cancellation of all New Year celebrations in the Gulf's tourism hub in solidarity with Palestinians facing Israeli military attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum said the move was triggered by the "destruction, killing and displacement caused by the Israeli military machine", the state news agency WAM reported. (Reuters)
