At least 10 people were killed Saturday evening and dozens of others were wounded after a mosque in the Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya was hit by the IDF, Palestinian sources reported.

According to a Reuters report, one of those killed is a child. The Palestinians said that the mosque was shaken up by a loud blast while dozens of worshipers were praying at the site. The mosque is located behind a Gaza hospital and has been named for a senior Hamas figure assassinated several years ago.

A short while later, Palestinian sources reported that four people were killed in an IDF strike in Rafah. The death toll in Gaza as now topped 470.

Palestinian rescue forces were removing bodies from the bombed moque and evacuating the wounded. Almost all those present at the mosque were hurt, sources in Gaza said. According to the Palestinians, the IDF attacked at least 10 mosques during operation Cast Lead.

Earlier, the Palestinians reported that the Air Force struck the offices of a Hamas newspaper in Gaza City. There are no reports of injuries at this time. The IDF had no response to the latest reports.
