18 soldiers injured in first day of ground incursion
The IDF said Sunday that 18 soldiers suffered minor to mediocre injuries Sunday, in several incidents during IDF operations in the Gaza Strip. All of the soldiers were admitted for care in various hospitals.
Staff-Sergeant Dvir Emanuelof, 22, from Givat Ze'ev, became Israel's first fatality in Operation Cast Lead. Another soldier was hospitalized in critical condition. (Hanan Greenberg)
