The IDF stated that a number of Hamas gunmen were inside the UNRWA school struck by the army. Among them were Imad and Hassan Abu-Askar, who are known to the IDF as Hamas operatives.
The army also stated that a rocket-launching cell was on the scene, and actively firing towards Israel. (Hanan Greenberg)
