European Union Ambassador to Israel, Ramiro Cibrian-Uzal said that the EU decided to freeze talks with Israel on upgrading relations with Israel. This comes on the backdrop of Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Cibrian-Uzal said that the two sides understood that this is a good time for a time out. Renewal of the upgrade talks depends on the results of the fighting in Gaza and on peace with the Palestinians. The ambassador made these statements during a meeting with Israeli press at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. (Roni Sofer)
