Likud MK Erdan: Ceasefire without Shalit a moral failure
Knesset Member Gilad Erdan (Likud) demanded that the Political-Security Cabinet refrain from ordering a ceasefire in Gaza until kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit is released.
According to Erdan, "There will be no better opportunity to reach an agreement for Gilad's return than now, when Hamas is asking for a ceasefire. It would be an unprecedented moral value if the government withdraws the forces without Shalit being returned." (Amnon Meranda)
