Assailants threw three firebombs at the Egyptian embassy in Jakarta and caused a small fire, but no one was injured, the ambassador said on Tuesday.
The attack coincided with rising Arab and Islamic anger at Egypt for continuing to keep the Gaza-Egypt border closed during the military operation in Gaza. Ambassador Ahmed Al-Qawisny said that Indonesians had held protests near the embassy in recent weeks over the situation in Gaza, but that they had been peaceful. (Reuters)
