Neo-Nazis rally in Slovakia

Riot police disperse far-Right rally in Bratislava; ultranationalists march in Czech Republic

Riot police have used force to disperse a rally by ultranationalists and neo-Nazi radicals in Bratislava, Slovakia's capital.

Several hundred gathered outside the presidential palace in downtown Bratislava on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of the time Slovakia served as a puppet state to Nazi Germany during World War II.

About 70,000 Slovak Jews and thousands of Gypsies were deported from Slovakia during the war, most of them dying in Nazi concentration camps.

Police Vice President Stanislav Jankovic told the TA3 news television that authorities decided to forcefully end the rally after the radicals used a Nazi salute.

Jankovic says no one was injured, but six people were detained.

Meanwhile, about 200 people took part in a far-Right march in the western Czech town of Plzen. Two people were detained in that rally, including a man with the figure "88," known as an abbreviation of "Heil Hitler," tattooed on his neck.
